turkey week

Cy loves it when we get kicked out of our house for showings because we usually go to a restaurant and he gets to eat total crap.
In the past week, we have been to the Aquarium three times. My new fav pasttime... probably because it is in a mall, right next to a starbucks, so after he has his fun, I get to have mine!

Playing house with J.

You know, i remember writing a lot about how our little boy has changed... 'he can hold his head up!' 'he grabs my finger now!' and I realize that the majority of the changes back then were all physical. And yeah, he is still growing physically but what we are witnessing more is a psychological change...
He pretty much understands everything we say now. We are trying to curb our swearing and toliet humor (ok, not really, but a little bit.)
He now knows what he wants, and he wants it NOW! Prime example: his bucky badger shirt is his all time fav shirt. He doesn't care if it is lying in a heap on the floor caked with food and dirt, surrounded by stink-bomb diapers. He's wearing it!
And, he is off and running to do whatever.the.h.e.l.l. he wants.! So basically I/we have become his shadow. Long gone are the days of breastfeeding him while sitting at the 'puter surfing the web. Come to think of it, long gone are the days of sitting in general. Sometimes at night when I am cashed after a loong day being a shadow I lay on the floor next to him while he plays. He hates that so he grabs fistfuls of my hair and pulls me into an upright position. Caveman-like (or should I say cave-toddler-like?), but extremely effective.
((Update: I had to delete part of this blog. Waaaay too much wierd spam.))
He does a lot of cute things too. LOVES dancing. Which I die over. Loves to do "cheers" with the sippy cup.
so, that's where we are at these days.

boy you kids sure get around

For Cy's half birthday we gave him an Ipod Touch
just kidding! but he does love listening to Bob Dylan on it. Just like mama and dada!

We did give him a frosted chocolate brownie to celebrate making it to 1 1/2!!

He put his teddy & dollie into the chairs. I think they were hungry. He would not let go of the balloon all day!

Visiting Stevie and his new baby.

Visting Annie's new home

Annie & I out after Adrienne's open house.

"Boy you kids sure get around!" That's one of my dad's fav sayings and this week it's true! We went as a family to Adrienne's pilates studio open house on Saturday night. Cy tested out the equipment and the sweets and cheeses. On Sunday we visited both Godparents. Annie has a new beautiful home. We are in love with it. Cy ran around and tried to break things. Then we went on to see Cy's Godfather Stevie who has a brand spanking new baby named Addison. Cute little thing. In a few short hours Cy is getting picked up by his grandmother to spend the night (and all day tomorrow) with them. Patrick & I are going to celebrate my friend Christie's birthday with her & her hubby by going to the Timberwolves game. Courtside seats yo! So, be a good boy little Cy so mama & dada can "get around" more often!!!

And Jens, I have no idea what I was for halloween. I had that jumpsuit thingy in my closet and just went with it. I felt very 70's!! Don't ask me why it was in my closet.....

Halloween. Grown up time!

Cy waiting for his Halloween cookies to finish baking...
Hello there fellow online friends. It is a beautiful day in Mpls today. And we are making the most of it. We took a little jog around Calhoun this morning and then cruised right into uptown for a fun little stroll (coffee in hand.) Last weekend was a total and complete riot. I cannot imagine having another weekend that could possibly be more fun. Last Friday Cy & I went to the zoo with our friends Molly & Campbell. Then my parents came to town and we had a carbo-load dinner at AMore Victoria (we love that place!) Saturday, Halloween, started off with the Monster Dash half marathon - in which Christie and I kicked ass. There was a huge array of wild costumes and the weather was fairly nice and there was so much excitement in the air that it just made for a great day! And then that night Patrick & I went to a wild Halloween house party while my mom and dad babysat. We might not have stayed up too late (like midnight!?) but we sure had fun while we were there. I remember looking around at the circle of people dancing with me in the living room and just cracking up. It was such a hodgepodge of hilarious characters! What a sight!
Daylight savings and the arrival of 4 teeth have given us a cranky toddler this week. Today he finally slept in and is back to his old self!
Oh - and I spent this whole week converting the first floor of our condo into Cy's wonderland play area. Got a huge dresser and filled it with arts and crafts and toys. Set up a kitchen/reading area under our stairs. Gearing up for winter I guess!!
