Spring greetings!

Hello! Not much new here. Just waiting (still!) for the weather to break. We definitely have had some nice days.. although this morning there was snow on the ground & Patrick had to scrape his car before work. We have spent our weekends having friends over for dinner, watching LOTS of basketball, going on walks, etc. Yesterday Cy & I met friends at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. They have a playroom there that is free. We have spent quite a bit of time there this winter. It's a good place to burn off some of Cy's never-ending energy! Today we just got home from swim lessons and Cy is crashed out in his crib for a bit. Tomorrow we are going to a friend's house in NorthEast Minneapolis to play with a group of friends. So, as you can see, same ole same ole! Can't wait to start cruisin' the lakes with the jogging stroller when the weather warms a bit. We did get Cy a smart-looking new pair of tennies (they look just like Daddy's) so he is ready for the outdoors.. so cute!

Well we have graduated from the "cling to mommy" stage and have moved on to a much more "fun" (lots of sarcasm here) one. I like to call it the "heart attack" phase. Not a single day goes by where I am very close to going into cardiac arrest. You turn your head for a second and the kid has a piece of dog food in his mouth or he's just about to climb up the stairs. He is constantly LOOKING for trouble. I think we need to move into a large padded room for a few months (or is it years?) I have been waking up in the middle of the night in a stir, thrashing my covers about, thinking I need to catch him from something. I have to tell myself that he is in the crib. Duh!

Last night his forehead met our iron stair rail. We thought we were headed to the ER. He probably could have used a stitch or two. I was less than 6 inches away from him and looking at him when it happened. I have no idea how to prevent these situations. He just crawled right into it. And today our precious little son has a black eye and a rotten looking eyebrow. Don't tell him I said this but I think somewhere deep (DEEP) down inside Patrick is a tiny bit excited at seeing his "future hockey player" be such a toughie. He was a toughie too. Stopped crying right away. Anyways, keep us in your prayers. It's going to be a long black and blue and bumpy road!

well hello there!

Long time no see. Welcome to March! We got back late last night from a 10 day excursion to Milwaukee. Lots of grandpa and grandma time for the babe. For the first few days we were on quarantine and didn't leave the house. Cy was still pretty sick. It wasn't until a few days ago that he seemed completely better. Now grandpa and grandma are totally sick. They don't have voices!
We managed to have a good time anyways! Cy had a few afternoons with the grandparents while I got to run around the old stomping grounds. He even had 2 nights alone with them when Patrick & I went out in Milwaukee and stayed downtown. That was a total blast! One night we went out for lobster & steak and then to a concert. The other night Patrick went to a Marquette hoops game and then I met him & all his friends out for bowling & more.. We also went to lunch twice with Great-Grandpa Cy, Uncle Jim, my parents and Maytag Bob & Clarice. Oh those guys. What a hoot!

Cy is just cruising along. Doesn't sit still for a minute. Within hours of arriving at my parents' house, all the lamps were unplugged and moved into a closed room, pictures and knick knacks taken off coffee tables, and magazines were shredded. That kid leaves his mark!
It feels great to be back! We went to music class today & coffee with Cy's "Godma" Annie. He is 10 months old today! Now we are waiting for the weather to break so we can get our walk on. Ok, time to go to bed. Cy has his little lady friend Harlowe coming over in the morning for a playdate.
