highs and lows

well, I don't know about you but I had one of the most fun weekends EVER! What a riot! Flew out to AZ and met up with friends for a wonderful wedding! Mac & Nora got married! Yay! Honestly, I think it was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. Why? The people! I feel like everyone there was so happy & excited to be there, not to mention a little wild. The weather was perfect. The wedding was beautiful. The food was definitely the best wedding food I have ever had - a steak that rivals Manny's! And I met so many people who were so great - people you'd want to be lifelong friends with. Mac & Nora have great friends and family!

SO after that I arrived home late on Sunday night and woke up Monday morning to a whimpering baby with diarrhea, lots of vomiting and a fever. Patrick is now out of town so it is just me, the dog & mr sickypants. Loads of work. Loads of diaper bombs too ;) Yum! ok, gotta enjoy my last few minutes of naptime before sickypants wakes again. We are off to Milwaukee on Thursday! Hopefully the bombs will have retreated by then.

Mommy is going away!

Tomorrow I leave Patrick, Cy & Jackson at home & head to a wedding in AZ! Check out what our freezer looks like in that pic above. It took over a month of pumping to fill the freezer to get a quick weekend away! What a good hubby Patrick is -- taking care of the dog & baby for a whole weekend! We are having a crazy couple of weeks... Patrick is in S Dakota today. I am in AZ this weekend starting tomorrow. Patrick goes to Ohio next week and then on Thursday we both go to Wisco - Cy & I are there for 10 days! Between all of this running around & making sure the condo looks ok for showings - we are both a little dizzy! Fun, but Crazy!

cy's friends

Today we went & met Kat & Camille, Anne & Soren at a mall & had lunch. The babies are all getting so big! As you can see, Soren & Cy already have eyes only for Camille!

lemons and balloons

So we went to Old Chicago's restaurant today while we were kicked out of our condo for a showing. Cy tried a lemon for the first time & he tried playing with a balloon for the first time. Wish I would've gotten the lemon on video - his face was classic!

havin a ball

Well we still managed to go to the park today even though it was a bit cold (read: FREEZING.)Tomorrow we are going to baby story hour at the local library. Some wild-haired wrinkly lady who reminds me of a caricature from SNL reads kids book and makes goofy faces. On Saturday we might go to a baby disco -- it's at a downtown dance club - they serve alcohol for the grown-ups (don't worry we won't drink a lot! Although, we probably should.) and the kids all dance - it's during the daytime hours. Thanks Katie for telling us about it!
So Cy is crawling all over the place now -- nothing is slowing him down! Opening drawers and slamming his fingers into them. Sticking those same chubby fingers into daddy's beer can and electrical outlets. Climbing up into a stand on ledges and then just "letting go" and falling flat on his face. He never stops moving now!
He also is starting to play "catch" with us. We roll the ball to him & he slowly rolls it back! And, he LOVES to kick the ball! Might have a future soccer player on our hands! Or swimmer. He's taken a shine to that too! Laughs the whole swim lesson!
Happy Friday the 13th & Happy V Day! Peace out.

A warm weekend

ok, so not really warm per se, but a lot 'warmer' than it has been. We just hung out this weekend. Real mellow. Had 2 showings. Went on walks, went to Uncle Tim's house, out to dinner & to the dog park. Tonight we had dinner at our friends' house.
Harlowe, 15 months, is pictured above pushing Cy in her wagon down her hallway. The pair have been having a lot of fun together! Also pictured is Patrick's first basketball lesson.
