Summer is flying by!

Wow, the end of June is almost here! Soon, Kat & Mark, Josh and Anne, Andy and Elizabeth and Emily and Andrew will all have their babies! The Emmers can't wait to meet all of Cy's new playmates -- and I can't wait to have some new mommies to hang with!

We had a great weekend. The weather was terrific. We went to St Anthony Main and strolled along the river. Yesterday we went to Mark & Kat's baby shower. Cy met a lot of kids there!

We are getting ready to go to Mom & Baby class and then over to St Paul to get my bridesmaid dress fitted one last time. Pam's wedding is this Saturday! My parents are going to have an adjoining hotel room and take care of Cy while we celebrate with Pam & Clint. Can't wait!!

And after that we are off to see family up at the cottage, including Cy's great grandfather Cy!

Week 6

Hard to believe that on Friday Cy will be 6 weeks old! We took him in to the ped office today and he is 11 pounds, 3 ounces already. little chub! Cy has been having a great week. On Sunday we celebrated Father's Day (Patrick's first!) out in Victoria with the Emmer family. Jim celebrated his first Grandfather Day and Nan of course had all sorts of little treats for Cy - a special plant, blanket, hat, etc.

Last night Cy went to sleep at 10:30 and slept all the way until 6am! Hooray!!!! It was WONDERFUL!

We are busy today getting our birth announcements done before next week. Next week we are going on vacation! yay! Madison, Wisco for Pam's wedding and then the cabin! Counting down the days.. can't wait!

What have we been up to?!

Cy has been all over town from the Mall of America to shopping on Grand Ave in St Paul to strolling around uptown. We are definitely introducing him to the twin cities! This week I got to do some pampering... haircut, pedicure! It felt great! And last night Patrick & I went on a date to a mexican restaurant. Patrick ate a fish that was so big its tail laid off the platter onto the table! Good eater, that man. Now we are off to enjoy a beautiful day!

One Month Old

Happy One Month Birthday Cy!

Cy is definitely growing! He is a little chub! I think he is over 10 pounds now. He is getting strong too. He holds his head up (somewhat) and his arms and legs seems quite powerful. He is also becoming more alert. He is enthralled by colorful patterns and even reaches out to touch certain toys. These things sound small, but they are all very different compared to where he was a month ago!

And - the best part - he is finally starting to show us his little smile! Here is a picure of him going for a ride with mommy in the minivan... He asked to drive but I said he will have to wait a little before I let him do that. I told him he has to at least master the bike first.

ANOTHER ALBUM

I added another link to an online album. It is all of my pictures from the hospital. You can find it on the right hand side of this web site.
I don't know why I am putting this out in public, but what the heck: Here is the last belly picture taken the morning of my c-section - 2 hours (almost exactly) before Cy's birth! Yeesh, eh? Makes me feel skinny now even though I still have a long way to go before getting back into my old jeans!

HEY! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Sorry we are slackers and haven't posted.
The past few weeks have been tough but fun. He still wakes a lot at night... just to give you an idea: last night he was up from 1-2, 4-5 and then 6:30 til about 11am with a few quick little naps in the middle. Pretty brutal, eh? Having intelligent conversations feels like a thing of the past. My sleep deprived brain prompts me to say 'what was I gonna say?" about 200 times each day. So really, my days are spent trying to catch up on lost sleep or at least thinking about catching up. Other than the lack of sleep everything else seems to be going well.

We've had tons of visitors in the past few weeks... some people from out of town have even gotten a chance to see Cy! (Joanna, Uncle Jim, Jono came all the way from Cambodia!) Cy pooped on Jono's hands which was a totally classic moment. I couldn't have planned it better. We were at a park too so Jono had to 'clean his hands' by wiping them in the dirt! Hee hee!

On Monday Cy & I attended our first Mom & Baby class. It was also the first time Cy & I went by ourselves somewhere. Besides being 20 minutes late, (Cy decided he was hungry again when we got to the parking structure) the class was really fun. I am so glad we decided to go. There are 7 other new moms in it. All about the same age. Their babies are all about the same age too. Cy is the youngest and the only boy! He definitely liked that! We spent the hour and a half chatting about how it has been so far.
Last night we took Cy to Fuji Ya to celebrate my birthday & my dad's birthday (yup, we share our birthday!) It was a ton of fun! We had a little private side room where we had to take our shoes off and sit on the floor. Katie, Annie, Patrick, Mom, & Dad all went. The boys weren't very comfortable.. but man was it good to eat sushi and drink a glass of wine at my fav restaurant! I did have to breastfeed while we were there.. which wasn't my favorite part but it wasn't too bad because we were in a private room! And guess what?!? For my birthday Patrick gave me a video camera!! Coming soon to a web site near you: VIDEO! I tried to catch my mom last night after a glass or two of wine talking about 'Korea' but I was too slow on the draw.... Don't worry, I'll practice and mark my words.. someday I am going to win AFV!

Here are some pics from the past few weeks. I will try to post at least once a week in the future!
XOXO
